The HABC Level 1 Awards in Health and Safety have been developed to ensure that employees are equipped with a basic knowledge of health and safety in their workplace, including the duties under UK health and safety legislation. The qualifications need no former knowledge of Health and Safety and is therefore ideal as part of a company health and safety induction programme, but it could also form part of ongoing refresher training designed to improve the health and safety culture in a workplace.
Teaching time 3 hours plus test. Assessment is by a 15 question multiple choice test, pass mark 10/15.
Level 2 award in Health and Safety in the WorkplaceThe aim of the HABC Level 2 Award in Health and Safety in the Workplace qualification is to provide candidates with knowledge of the basic Health and Safety practices that are essential in the workplace. This includes the hazards and risks presented in the workplace along with the relevant legislation, and ensures awareness of cost-effective, practical control methods
The Ofqual approved HABC Level 2 Award in Health and Safety in the Workplace qualification has been developed specifically for insertion onto the Qualifications and Credit Framework with full support from ENTO. It is therefore fully cognisant with industry and regulatory standards as well as being recognized by The Health and Safety Executive, Auditors and other Enforcement Officers.
Teaching time is 6 - 7 hours plus the test. Assessment is by a 30 question multiple choice test, pass mark 20/30.
Level 3 Award in Supervising Health and SafetyThe HABC Level 3 Award in Supervising Health and Safety in the Workplace provides progression from the Level 2 Award in Health and Safety in the Workplace and is intended principally for those who are operating in a supervisory or managerial role. Qualification holders will have gained a wide range of knowledge on health and safety Law, the hazards present in a workplace and how to implement effective and necessary controls. The HABC Level 3 Award in Supervising Health and Safety in the Workplace will equip candidates with the skills necessary for the effective supervision of staff. It will also focus on the importance of the health and safety culture of a business which will be an invaluable resource to those taking the qualification.
Teaching time 18 - 21 hours plus the exam. Assessment is by a 60 question multiple choice test, pass mark is 40/60.
Level 4 Award in Health and Safety in the Workplace. (CIEH board.)This C.I.E.H.qualification is designed for those working in any business, regardless of their product or service range. It is essential for all those who have a role that includes responsibility for the management of health and safety issues, including managers, supervisors and senior safety personnel.
